Teacher Recruitment |  2016-17 Church Year

Teaching This Church Year 2016-2017
It it takes about 40 participants to deliver a quality religious education program at UUCY–sign up. We work four-teachers-to-a-team, plus another team of substitutes. All curricula materials and orientation are provided and we support you throughout the year. We conduct a general teacher orientation in late August and New Teacher Orientation in September as well as gather all-together in November and March to discuss how things are going.

To find out more about how to get involved in these ministry opportunities, contact Carolyn Freud, Lifespan Religious Education Director, dre@uucy.org.

There is a conventional sign-up poster in the sanctuary lobby too. Summer volunteers can declare what particular Sunday(s) they want to teach.

We believe in the child-centered experiential approach to the teaching in religion which begins where the person is, with her needs and questions, and seeks to help her develop that maturity and teach ableness of mind and emotion which can only belong to the free spirit.
